Research Fellow
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., is seeking candidates with expertise in life sciences for its Research Fellowship program. Fellows will promote alternatives to animal research by reviewing animal models in diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, obesity, cardiovascular disease, or other fields, and will use those findings to advocate for changes in public policy and research funding priorities. Fellows are expected to publish and present their findings in scientific and lay venues.
Taking advantage of PCRM’s Washington, D.C., location, fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of scientific and policy-oriented endeavors, including congressional lobbying, government agency interaction, media training, intern mentoring, and project management.
Fellows will work in a collaborative atmosphere with other fellows and PCRM’s experts in medicine, nutrition, toxicology, research policy, and other fields. Selected fellows may be considered for full-time employment at the conclusion of the fellowship.
