It is time to start preparing for our 5th Kickstart. For those of you new to Kickstart, you are in for a life-changing experience. The best part is we have so many knowledgeable alumni on this forum to help us out along the way. I'm really excited to hear your stories for the next 21+ days!

Thank you for joining!

Hooray!!

This is always fun!

After the last kickstart I thought "How many kick 'starts' can one person need?" Well I may not be "starting" but I sure gets lots of good info and advice while I'm here, so count me in AGAIN! I think this is my 4th one.

For some of you, we may need a KickSMART club.

Hi Susan
I can't wait to see what is in store this time around! Do you think pcrm will ever incorporate a nutrition page for the kickstart participants? One where we could slide whole recipes into and get a nutrition breakdown.

We could put hoppin john salad in.. then say we ate .25 or .50 of the recipe. that way we don't have to go elsewhere and put in all the ingredients individually.

Also i can't wait to see what input bob harper has..

This is fun.. and yes i have been trying my own recipes.. is there a place we could submitt ones that would be considered to be included sometime?

I have at least one other person, maybe two that will be signing up! The support system is wonderful and you do a great job.

All of our recipes have a nutritional breakdown on their original pages (usually NutritionMD.org but sometimes CancerProject.org). Or were you referring to outside recipes only? If so, that would be an interesting idea. Unfortunately, the software we use to analyze recipes is research-grade and proprietary. We couldn't post it online legally. For now, if you want to see individual nutrients, you may have to do the old-fashioned way: one ingredient at a time.

Oh Thank you Susan. Yes I realize down at the bottom is the nutritional information.
I was thinking of something like what they have at mypyramid.gov You list what you ate, they tell you how it breaks down nutrionally. You can build day-by-day and then get the nutrional breakdown for the day or by the week. So if you eat 1/4 of hoppin john one day and 1/2 the next.. and then the rest the next day.. there you go..
At mypyrimid.gov you have to do one ingredient at a time. I was thinking if it was with the kickstart maybe you could just enter a recipe. Also most used ingredients would be easier to find.. soy.. etc.
Yes it would be interesting for personal recipes. That is why i thought a recipe might have to be submitted for consideration. Of course then you get into copyright issues; so that might not work.

Susan,

The email that we received announcing the coming start of the Kickstart, that has the link to "Register Now" and a link to "Join The Kickstart", do we have to click the "Join" one? Or are we, as former members, already considered joined? The reason I ask is that the last Kickstart, which was my 2'nd time, I did click the Join link, and it listed my starting member date as then, instead of the date that I initially joined.

Thanks,
Lauren

This is my first time doing the kickstart program. I've learned alot from Lani and have done fairly decent job of getting seven servings of veggies in over the past Holiday weeks ~ Hoping this just keeps my momentum going.

@dollgirl,

I'm doing the Kickstart for the first time this month and I'll be blogging about it for Shape Magazine, at http://www.shape.com/blogs/dorm-blogger. I may be making some modifications to the recipes for college living but feel free to follow along and join the conversation!

Hello fellow Vegans!
I am not really 'starting' a kickstart, actually this is my 4th time that I am participating. I have been a vegan for last 13 months and clearly I have seen so much difference in my health and appearance. I don't really eat a lot of processed food. So apart from being a vegan, I also believe in eating natural, whole foods. I am going to start a blog to share my vegan recipes for all you wonderful people and I hope to learn and share knowledge and information with my fellow vegans! Cheers!! Smile

HI All,
I am so glad another kickstart is here. The forum is one of the best parts.. i learn sooo much... people ask and answer questions that i never even thought of asking. i have told many people and encouraged just as many to check it out..even if they might turn out to be vegetarians.... it's just food.. good food..
Anyway.. i am glad to be back for my 2nd kickstart..
