Gaining inches in my waist

I've been eating vegan since the April kickstart. I've lost about 12 pounds, but have gained more than an inch in my waist. Any one else experience this? What to do?

Hey there,
Yes, I experienced this same phenomenon. I believe it is due to all the fiber we're now eating. Fiber can cause some bloating, which can result in a little bigger belly. But, the extra inch is for a good cause! Smile

The only time it goes away on me is when I have a weekend of eating really bad, non-healthy foods (lots of breads, fried stuff, little fiber), then I wake up with a flat stomach – but can't... do nature's business, so to speak! Shocked lol TMI maybe, but there you are. Wink

I think, if you're drinking enough water the fiber should not create ongoing bloating. Bloating should be a "now and then" kind of thing. Not something that actually adds inches to your waist. Would love for one of the experts to chime in on this.

I am having the same problem with additional belly mass! Sad I am very interested in more of an explanation of why. I drink LOTS of water, all day long.... eat Lots of veggies, fruit.... I was happy to read that others are questioning this, too!

I am headed to my acupuncturist today to help with the big belly I have!! Any thoughts on this? I have always eaten quite healthy but ramp it up with the 21 day kickstart. I do need to cut out sugar...
