In fact, I have gotten it down that I have 2 tsp of peanutbutter on toast for a weekend treat, I may have about 1/4 nuts during the week, and I have a few recipes I like that use cashew cream. I still drink a bit of almond milk before my early morning walk and I am not losing. So.... I need to cut all that out. I work 2 jobs and truly don't have much time to cook. This weekend I tried to get some done but it wasn't as low fat as it should have been. So I would imagine I won't lose anything this week. Since this kick start began I lost 3 pounds. Oceandog, 3 lbs ... is nothing to sneeze at. As long as it's going down most of the time that's good. And as we used to say in WW, it's in the pipes. I had hoped for much more but I will take the 3 pounds and gently remind myself I am eating very healthy and my body does appreciate the decent food. And imagine the opposite scenario ... you know it's not an option? When I first became vegetarian I ate lots of meat subs, then when I went vegan the first time, lots of dairy subs, then gluten free, same thing. Gluten free items. I finally got it. I don't have to worry about ingredients, be they meat broth, dairy, eggs, wheat... etc IF I eat whole foods. Can't believe it took me that long to get it. Now I rarely eat anything processed, it is "treat" and even then I find I don't enjoy them like I used to. These days a treat is an all fruit smoothie! With mango? Haven't lived till you have mango Re: working 2 sedentary jobs ... that IS rough, I must admit. I would suggest home exercise videos, but I wouldn't have the physical or mental energy either. Or, maybe start with some gentle yoga video that you might actually welcome for stress relief ... and stimulate your metabolism at the same time. Dunno. Hang in there. You Will get there. xo

Thank you, the past 5 years have been terribly difficult with many changes and great loss. I won't have to work 2 jobs forever, just a few more months. I am just trying to cut fat, and eat as healthy as possible until I get to the other side. I don't have access to TV or videos at the moment, so I walk and do a few floor exercises and stretches before bed. I have very, very long days and have a fatigue issue on top of it. So my days off I spend pretty much in recovery, prone and breathing! Oh can't have mangoes. They cause a rather frightful swollen rash about the face and neck. Had to go to ER and have a shot and steroids but BOY were they yummy! I too tried WW but the vegan options were SO limited that I didn't stay with it. I also got very tired of hearing well "its the way you eat dear... " I also struggle with high cholesterol. My doc isn't worried either, she said when I drop the extra 40 that it will go to an amazingly low level but with the extra weight, the numbers will stay high. She says I eat the most near perfect diet of anyone she treats so she isn't worried. I am glad for this forum though. It somehow helps that there are others that understand and are a forum reply or email away. Very nice.

Hey again, Revolution Good questions! I was never in Weight Watchers... thank goodness! I'm in another program for my food addiction, and it focuses on the mental/behavioral aspect, and never forces anyone to weigh in, count points, or any of that nonsense. I think WW would be terrible for someone like me! To answer your questions: 1.) Raw food & fat – I don't recommend a diet that high in fat for ANYone. Most of the raw foodists I know are fairly young people and are very athletic, so they can burn it off fairly easily, but it's still a ton of calories. Also, most people who eat high raw like that, from what I've seen, consume very small portions of food. Since their food is so calorically dense, they can't eat very much of it, or they'd gain a lot of weight. Personally, I prefer to eat a larger volume of food, which is why I like large amounts of raw vegetables. 2.) You're right, a couple of years WAS a long time to suffer! I had every single symptom in the book, no exaggeration. It was terrible. 3.) When I said the main issue was me, I meant this: the medication gave me my energy back, but it didn't solve my problem of overeating and underexercising. My lack of exercise was only partially due to lack of energy; mostly due to laziness and unwillingness. My overeating was due to food addiction. The medication gave me energy again, but it could not fix those two things! 4.) Ditto on the water! I drink tons, and no caffeine or other bad stuff. No sugar, either. 5.) My exercise is 40 minutes on the elliptical 3x week and 35-45 minutes of weight training 3x week. I'm at extremely high risk of osteoporosis, and that routine is what my doctor recommended as preventative. I really should increase the weight training, but... again with the laziness. Guess that about sums it up.

I am a lifetime member. I first lost weight on WW back in 1985, after my youngest child was born. Of course, I was only 28 years old, and the weight came off very easily. Once I went off the plan, though, the weight came back on with a vengeance. I've tried it several times since then, but with no success. It's very restrictive.
