Food for Life classes

Hey all,
I'm taking the Food for Life Nutrition and Cooking Classes for Cancer Prevention and Survival that are offered by The Cancer Project, one of PCRM's subsidiaries, and they are AWESOME! I highly recommend the classes, if they are available in your area. Check out the class list and see if there's one near you. I have to make a bit of a drive to the one near me, but it's totally worth it. The recipes are great, the instructor is really friendly and personable, and the information on Dr. Barnard's video is very helpful, as well. I bought the Cancer Survivor's Guide cookbook that goes with the class, and it has a lot of recipes that are similar in style to the PCRM and Nutrition MD recipes. I highly recommend these classes! Very Happy

Bravo! So, glad you had a chance to go! Sounds wonderful. I would go, too, if were anywhere close.

....not close to Mississippi.

I'm starting that series on September 7th- prefect for the 21 days Vegan Kick Start! I've heard so many good things about the class!

I wonder why these classes are not more widely available ...

soon2Be,
I think it's because they are taught by volunteers, and the amount of knowledge required to be an instructor is amazingly vast. I've considered becoming an instructor, but felt intimidated by what I would have to learn... it scared me! I think that's probably the primary reason, coupled with lack of demand due to PCRM and veganism in general being out of the mainstream.
My two cents, of course. Wink

Thanks for the info, Molly. There happens to be a number of classes close to me coming in October. Will look into it...

Thanks for the link. There are classes just a few miles from my work. I can't wait to attend.
