Not long now - only a month away so we are on countdown. I will be joining up again just to keep myself on track with my chosen vegan lifestyle (minus the couple of times I mess up but always vegetarian if not vegan. I suspect this will be the biggest kickstart yet with lots t=of people joining due to Dr Barnard being on television and the 21-day kickstart book coming out.

Hi Kiwi, I am looking forward to the September kickstart too....I am currently following the April kickstart as I fell off the vegan wagon and ate cheese....I too am ALWAYS vegetarian but need that extra support for my vegan lifestyle. Not too many people around me that are strictly vegan....my friend s seem to be more supportive than my meat eating husband

Cheese! Thats a loaded word for me. I am a reformed cheeseaholic. It took me a couple of weeks to stop craving cheese when I went vegan. Part of which I am sure was my cooking habits as cheese on and in everything. I have now learned to use other ingredients for flavour. I am too scared to go back to eating even a mouthful of cheese as I think I might end up eating a lot of it.

Since the last Kickstart I bought some new cookbooks that I REALLY like: ~Appetite for Reduction ~The Happy Herbivore - she also has a great blog / web site with recipes. ~The Indian Vegan Kitchen ~Vegan Fire & Spice One that I've had for a while that I go to frequently: ~Yellow Rose Recipes. I love the Kickstart, but find I need a lot more recipes or meal ideas than provided.

I have also been stocking up since the last kickstart, I have the first two books you list and agree they are great. I use the Happy Herbivore a little more. The other book I have gone to and love is the McDougall Quick and Easy Cookbook. All low fat vegan recipes that are easy to make. No unusual ingredients that are hard to find in the grocery store. I highly recommend this as well.

Hi Kiwi... Is the cookbook you are referring to "The McDougall... quick and easy recipes.. over 300 delicious low fat recipes you can prepare in 15 minutes or less" or is it an updated version. It sounds perfect.. low fat and easy and ingredients that are easy and familiar. Thanks !!

Hi The book I am referring to is the one you mention above - "The McDougall Qucik and easy cookbook - over 300 delicious low-fat recipes that you can prepare in 15 minutes or less (1999)". I like it so much that I have ordered "The New McDougall Cookbook: 300 Delicious Ultra-Low-Fat Recipes". i am waiting for it to arrive. The titles are similar so I am hoping the recipes are different and not too much doubleup. You can view on the McDougall website http://www.drmcdougall.com/store_books.html but cheaper to buy from Aamazon.com.
