carraggenan and concerns
Posted Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 6:42 PM

Recently I've been hearing that a lot of non-dairy milk has carraggenan, and this can contribute to leaky gut and maybe other stomach issues? What are your thoughts on this? And, what brands of almond milk or soy milk don't have carrageenan, if this is the issue? ( these are the two non-dairy milks that seem most popular / easy to find, although I'm learning to make so many new kinds like cashew milk, coconut milk, and I also like rice milk. =)

The research on this ingredient is sparse. However, you can find brands that do not use it.

I buy Silk original unsweetened almond milk from my local grocery store. It has no carrageenan. I heard there is a 365 Whole Foods almond milk without carrageenan.
