What food related phrases might need to be revised for a vegan?

For example, would a vegan want to "live high on the hog"? Very Happy

Deb, this should be fun.. oh where oh where is Theodore? I just have a feeling he will have something to contribute! Mariberry?

I will watch and think of this.

I scream
You scream
We all scream
For "Rice Dream" (instead of ice cream)

How would one turn this phrase to "vegan acceptable"?

Oh, that Theodore - he's such a ham!

oK.. i found a few sayings to play with..

egg on your face

no use crying over spilt milk

don't put all your eggs in one basket

you can't make an omlette without breaking a few eggs

peabrain

I think peabrain would still be appropriate, and as far as "Oh Theorodore..." when I was younger we used to say someone was a real pistol or character. I don't use many of those expressions, so I couldn't even think of one! Good job everyone!

I like the I scream, you scream...I remember that from childhood as well (better with Rice Dream)

That's a good one...except it sounds like he's "satan" when he's really an angel. Right, T? Twisted Evil

My kids would have to agree with the rice dream one. They love it. I just found some on sale, so it is their special treat (I am a frugal vegan!).

Would Theodore be a soy deli slice? It doesn't have the same ring.

How about frying tofu on the sidewalk?

I, for one, am getting quite concerned about Theodore. I truly hope he knows that we're just being playful, although, being the serious philosopher he is, he may not understand that.

I am with you Mariberry, I did expect to see some input from Dear Theodore before now. Must be busy times over there in the UK.

Hi Guys

So sorry I missed this. My internet was completely down yesterday. Thanks for your comments (I think).

Next time that happens you should phone the British Embassy and they'll make sure the message gets to me.

Recently, instead of saying: "bring home the bacon", I've been saying: "bring home the solid fat and cholesterol".
