Get Excited!
Posted Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 9:02 PM

PCRM welcomes all of you to our third ever 21 Day Vegan Kickstart! We have reached over 50,000 people so far with this online effort and we plan to exceed 80,000 with the March 1 program. Let's use this forum for questions, challenges, to share successes with eachother.

We start officially on Monday, but use the countdown days as a time to prepare - clean out the pantry and refill with all you can of the basics shopping list coming out tomorrow!

Get ready, get excited and most importantly, let's have fun getting healthy!

Best,

Jill Eckart

80,000 !?!!?! That's incredible. If each on of those would tell 3 people, who would tell 3 people, who would tell 3 people. . . . . . . . We could change some things in this world.

Jill this is an amazing program and I thank you and your entire team, especially Dr. Barnard, for sharing it with all of us. I have snet the link to to program to my friends who live overseas and friends and colleagues here as well. I am so excited about the program. I have lost 27 lbs since I became a vegan last year and all WITHOUT DIETING! I feel great. It's the best decision of my life and I am almost sure I have extended my life span by becoming vegan. Hugs to you and all who spent their valuable time to put this program together.

This is exciting to see so many people signing up for this! I have been vegan for about seven weeks now and am feeling great. I was inspired by the movie Food, Inc. last fall and by reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer. I also read The Kind Diet and The China Study. I also recommend Healthy at 100 by John Robbins. It gives a great overview of all of the data supporting the benefits of a plant based diet. It's also inspiring that you can still make changes at any stage of your life. I had been eating meat and dairy for 42 years before switching to a mostly vegetarian/pescetarian diet last September. I continued eating eggs, fish and diary, but gradually gave them up as well.

Thanks, Jill. I'm excited as well. Signed up for the last one, but the timing was not good for me. For years, I have been basically "plant-based", but not truly committed to 100%. I think its time! What a great idea this is, perfect for people like me that just need that little extra push- commit for 21 days, see how great we feel and look- and just keep going! My goal is to lose a few pounds, and lower my cholesterol, so we'll see... Smile

Maybe there's hope for me - that sounds good!jeffdickinson wrote:

Thanx for book recommendations!

Thanx for pitching in to help, Miss Eckart! Going vegan for 3 weeks sounds like a fun journey. Oprah did it - that's where I first heard of it. Then she had Alicia Silverstone and the author of Eat This Not That, and showed clips of Food, Inc. on one show, but it was sealed for me when Woman's World mentioned the 21-day Kickstart and posted PRMC link!
