Recently there has been a flood of excellent books and films addressing the food system (industrial agriculture, pesticides, human health, environmental concerns, animal welfare). In fact, it's given me the idea of putting together some sort of presentation or even a film festival, perhaps one that might be taken on the road. What do my fellow vegans think about this ambitious venture? Anyone out there interested, esp. those in the SF Bay Area? I'd appreciate any feedback on this proposal.

Thanks, Mariberry. And, yes, I agree there does seem to be an awakening underfoot.

I can't make it there either (in Farmington, CT) but all of us can click on the link that npauthor thoughtfully provided in his start of this thread:

There's a petition to congress there and it's even more powerful if you can add a sentence or two, then sign and submit. Grassroots efforts DO make a difference and this issue is HUGE! (Also can sign to save the polar bears and all other animals in Alaska's National Wildlife Refuge!)
