Vegan on the cheap
Posted Friday, April 16, 2010 at 2:57 PM

Since how to save money switching from processed foods to a whole-foods vegan diet has come up several times in the last 2 kickstarts, I thought I'd post this news here. Robin Robertson (of 1000 Vegan Recipes and Vegan Planet) has a new cookbook with exactly this concern in mind!

It's called...Vegan on the Cheap. And the book is cheap too--on sale at Amazon. Laughing

Essie, I looked at this book's reviews and it was described as being a "meat and potatoes" type of book. Do you know if it has healthy, low-fat recipes as well?

Hmm, I haven't actually seen the book yet. I am a fan of her in general though. I do often modify her recipes--skipping oil, salt, etc. And she will occasionally use a packaged product like vegan sour cream, though she almost always offers a homemade alternative for those also.

I read her blog and she mentioned she'll be sharing some sample recipes there soon. Here is the address (and the post where she lists some of the recipe titles): http://veganplanet.blogspot.com/2010/04/vegan-on-cheap-has-arrived.html
