When I order string beans and tofu from chinese restaurant, is it ok?

Every restaurant is different, so it really depends. But most restaurants stir fry in oil, so it would likely be high in fat. I would ask them if they can steam it or cook it without oil.

I go to Chinese and Thai restaurants a lot. I would also tell them that you want it Vegetarian style. Some places use oyster sauce or chicken broth in the base for the sauce. So if you get your tofu and green beans "dry wok" vegetarian style you are sure to be safe. I think they only use soy sauce and some water. But check it out. Always ask.

I eat chinese all the time. I do what Aleta suggested and ask them to dry wok or saute in water or vegetable broth.
