I hope that the UK's obsession with baldness dies down – it seems unwarranted. As the other posters have expressed, baldness can be quite fetching. You mentioned that no other men in your family are bald – does this include your maternal grandfather, and (if any) maternal uncles and great-uncles?

As for Biotin, it's about as natural as they come. A B vitamin, Biotin is found in many foods, as well as in bottles at your local pharmacy or natural foods store. It is well tolerated and there are no known drug interactions. 30 mcg is the recommended daily dose for the average adult, but Mayo Clinic documents tolerated average dosages up to 100 mcg daily for adults. Since you would be taking it for therapeutic purposes, your dose would be on the higher end.

Here are some links to informative websites:

Biotin's effects are noticeable in thicker, stronger hair growth, stronger nails, clearer skin, and possibly relief of acne. If you have a history of seizures, you should not use Biotin without instruction of a physician.

I have taken Biotin in the past, because I used to suffer from alopecia areata. I can attest that Biotin does cause hair to grow stronger and thicker, but it did not cause my hair to grow back in the patches where it had fallen out. Only time and less stress did that.

I hope this information is helpful. Happy Holidays to you as well, Theobald, and best of luck in this quest to conquer baldness. If I can be of help in any other way, please let me know.

My husband is mostly bald, and he was that way when I met him. When looking at the big picture it is such a minor little thing. If someone said "I can give him hair and take away _________" I'd say to keep him just like he is. I wouldn't change a thing about him. I see the beauty in the person he is, not the physical appearance as judged by the popular media.

Just my 2 cents !!

Theobald,

Thanks for the "free and clear" from Wendy!

I do have an idea for your barber though. Skip it! A disposable, recyclable razor will keep your lovely dome in top condition, a few simple passes with a creamy, pleasant fragranced shaving gel and I bet those UK gals will come around! If not, you at least will smell good!

Many of us US gals are already on board with a shaved dome! Smile

Over the weekend I will check out my book and see if there is anything besides the biotin Molly suggested. Molly is a smart cookie and if she doesn't know if anything else, and I can't think of anything I have read that would help, I would then go back to my original position that since you apparently have family, already vegan, a home and employed you are ahead of many.

Keep your humor and health and focus on better things in life (not materialistically) and I think you will find that everything else will fall in place for you.

Should you and your siblings make it to the US, there are many of us that would love to meet you.

Happy Holidays! For me that is Merry Christmas!

Wow. You guys really are the greatest. I hope we all get to meet each other some day.

I know I've only been on here a short while, but I can see why Theodore loves this forum so much. In fact, I think I'm starting to love this forum even more than he does.

Hey Theobald

What are you talking about, saying you love this forum more than I do.

No-one loves this forum more than I do.

OK Mollyhorn. You win. I'm gonna back down on this one. But I do hope you're not just Theodore going under a pseudonym and playing mind games with me. It wouldn't be the first time. He's crafty like that.

Although I must say, if you ARE one of his alter-egos, you're definitely one of his nicer ones.

Anyway, take care Mollyhorn / Theodore whoever you are.

We'll speak soon no doubt.
