Hot cocoa ideas
Posted Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:50 AM

I love hot cocoa year round as a late day pick me up here at work. The company supplies a really rich, dark fair trade organic cocoa mix (in addition to coffee and teas). It does contain powdered milk, however. I'm looking to find a good hot cocoa mix (either prepared or a recipe to make it myself) that can be made with just hot water and contains no soy. Best would be to make it myself so I can control the level of the ingredients (what type and how much sugar goes in, sodium level, etc).
Anyone have a favorite recipe or product?

I haven't tried it, but maybe Diamond Breeze Vanilla Almond Milk mixed with powdered pure cocoa, sweetened with your choice of sweetner. I don't care for Soy milk, have tried the rice milk and am not impressed by it, but the almond milk is great. Just a thought.

Thanks - yes, we love almond breeze warmed with cocoa and sweetener (and a dab of cinnamon!). That's our cozy winter night by the fire choice. However, what I'm looking for is something I can make easily at work that just required hot water added.
