Hey Jennifer -- You are going to love it!! Prior to the January Kickstart, I cannot remember a week going by that I didn't have at least one breakout (except maybe way back when I was 10?? haha). My skin has been COMPLETELY clear for the past two months..it's incredible! There is no doubt in my mind this was 100% because I finally cut out all animal products. I have faith you will experience the same thing! Good luck =)

There has been some research showing that dairy products are linked to acne. But even more interesting than science, actor Woody Harrelson claims adopting a vegan diet eliminated his acne so he never turned back. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/23/woody-harrelsons-vegan-ac_n_295765.html

I thought for sure mine would get better--I've had mild acne ever since I can remember. I have not seen a lot of improvement since I started in Jan. BUT someone else that has not seen me for awhile commented yesterday that my skin looked good. And I thought it was looking pretty bad due to a recent breakout....which occurred 3 days after I drank a Bailey's Irish Cream, which is one of a very few times I've had dairy since Jan. 1. So maybe it is making a difference, and it certainly may for you! I do know my breakouts are hormonal, and that may have something to do with why it hasn't responded as much as I had hoped. I've noticed other health benefits though, so I certainly will be continuing with this way of eating.

Hi Jennifer, It's good to know that I'm not the only one out there that has an acne problem. It seems so crazy that I've had to deal with this more as an adult than in my teenage years. But I have to say I've been following the "The Kind Diet" by Alicia Silverstone for the last 2 weeks and have NOT had any new breakouts thus far. I have recently been told that I suffer from hormonal acne (areas around the nose and mouth)...hmmmm I wondered if the connection was from the increase in hormones put in meat and dairy products. Yes, I have definitely seen the light and have tried to change my way of eating. It helps that I'm lactose intolerant so I don't eat much dairy anyway. But I have to say I've been trying to break my unhealthy relationship with cheese (the only dairy that I can tolerate). So here's to healthy eating and clear skin!!!!

How about rosacea or Adult Acne? It seems like vinegar burns my face from the inside so I don't eat it. But as soon as it calms down something triggers it and it is all over my cheeks again. The drugs bother me so I really don't want to take them. Any thoughts or help on rosacea? I am 53 and post-menopausal. Going to the grocery store to purchase my foods for the week. I plan on preparing most of the foods today so I don't have to do much on my busy nights.

I have struggled with my acne for 10+ years. I have been on a vegetarian diet and a vegan diet. I believe acne for an adult woman is strictly hormonal.(not cleansing issues or eating issues) I think it is possible to have more manageable acne with good diet with hormone balancing foods but it will be process of a long time and that is included with juicing because the human cannot consume the nutrients in one sitting of vegetables with out its fiber with out juicing process. For me the answer was many medical treatments due to cyst on the ovaries.

I used to have the cysts as well (ovarian). I had my thyroid removed 21 years ago and believe that throws off my hormones. My doctors don't listen to me and just look at the numbers.

I totally feel ur frustrations here with doctors!!! I went through the exact same thing. I live in tennessee and i drive to n. Carolina now to a holistic doctor who was president regans doctor. I got on wileys protocol bio identical plant base horomones best decision of my life. People from all over the world go to this center in wilksbourogh nc i get my labs done @ a lab corp. Get support for est. Progest and thyroid it by pass the liver safer than pharmaceutical drugs. Doctors really don't got it when it comes to these things it is chemistry and guessing and going by studies and what they learn in med school. Keep a clean diet and exerise is the best we can do on our part but hormones is kinda of a fighting battle. I know when its all inline life is good. Best of luck to you! Best, candy
