Hi! I love iced coffee in the warmer months. If I am buying it from a place that does not have soy milk as an option, I would bring my own little pack of soy milk. (I don't know if DD has soy milk.)

Because plant milk can be sweeter than creamers, you don't need to add sugar. You can also choose vanilla soy/rice/hemp milk which is very sweet.

Hi Jennifer - maybe ask your Dunkin Donuts cafe if they have soymilk for your coffee instead of milk?

Alas, I'm a bonafide Tim Horton's gal, but haven't had a coffee there since December (gasp!!) because they don't have soy milk as an option.

I've had to switch coffeehouses now and go to Starbucks for a London Fog (earl grey tea, soy milk and sugar-free vanilla). It is DIVINE! (it's hot though but they have a "cold" menu too).

Good luck!

I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions, but you might try Almond Breeze almond milk- the original is just like plain low-fat milk, the vanilla is sweet but not off-tasting like some soy milks, and the chocolate is great, though probably not good for every day. I make smoothies, lattes and chai with the vanilla, and banana milkshakes with the chocolate. Also, I love starbuck's soy lattes, they are made with a vanilla sweetened soy milk, so really don't need extra sweetening or syrups.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I actually have some almond breeze original at the moment, as my daughter was visiting and I bought it for her - I'll give it a whirl.

The DDs in NYC have soymilk now. Probably depends on where you are, but that's a good sign.

Starbucks has soymilk. It's sweetened, so I skip the sugar.

I think it's more and more common to see nondairy milks at coffee joints and even many restaurants. So many people are lactose intolerant anyway.

Very handy to have in your bag: one of the individual-sized juice box thingies of soymilk. I squirt it through the straw right into my coffee. Many delis have these, or you can buy a few at the grocery store to put in your bag or desk. Smile They don't require refrigeration until opened.

That's a great idea for work essie, thanks. At my work, if you have milk and put it in the fridge, someone drinks it - hopefully that won't happen so much with soy - I work with a bunch of rednecksSad, so I don't think it will!

I've been making a pumpkin seed milk for my morning lattes. It's easy to make in small batches since it needs no filtering or cooking. I make it weaker than most recipes (1/4 cup seeds in 5 cups water) and use a couple of dates to sweeten it.

Found a new coffee creamer at the health food store. It's made by "So Delicious". They also have soy creamers, but this one is made with "coconut milk"and it's fat-free. I got the Hazelnut Flavor and a few of my Non-Veg friends really liked it too. I have to watch my soy intake, so was happy to find this.

I'm reserving coffee for the weekend, as a treat or special time with friends. My stomach does so much better without the coffee!

Have gotten used to the herbal teas again since the January Kickstart and I don't have to put "anything" in them.

Every now and then I just have to treat myself to a Starbucks "Soy Latte" though. Smile
