BRAG TIME
Posted Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2:57 PM

I have to brag about myself on this program. It is so good. I love the food. I lost 4 lbs this week and I am full of energy. My husband agreed to go on it with me but he said he still wanted meat. As of today he has not mentioned meat. I made sietan today from scratch and it turned out so good. I had no idea vegan or vegetarian could be so good and tasty. I told a friend about it and gave her the website. Her husband was so excited that he told her he would do all the cooking. Too bad my husband didn't get all that excited. I plan everything a couple days ahead and it has worked very well. Good luck to all for the next 2 weeks.

Good job, Annette! I'm finding it easy and tasty, too. I just put together the tofu burgers at http://www.nutritionmd.org/recipes/view.html?recipe_id=583 for our dinner, and I am dying to make these chickpea spinach burgers, too: http://taleoftwovegans.wordpress.com/2009/12/10/chickpea-spinach-burgers/

(We're not actually big burger eaters, but somehow this seems to be the theme this weekend.)

Thank you very much. I want to try veggie burgers so will try your recipe.

Oh, they're not my recipes, but I'll blog about them after I've made them both, to see if they're any good. The best thing I've made new so far was the lasagna at http://www.nutritionmd.org/recipes/view.html?recipe_id=772 -- I was surprised by how well it turned out, and my partner said it's the best cheeseless lasagna he's ever had. My daughter gave me a great vegetarian cook book for Christmas. One recipe is "Eggplant Meatballs". After I finish my 3 weeks of the program that will be the first thing I am going to try.

Thank you Susan Levin. I am truly amazed with the food we can eat. My daughter has type 2 diabetes. I gave her the site and I am always telling her how good the recipes are. I know that she will try the sietan. She has downloaded all the recipes from the beginning. My Doctor was so encouraging about this site. I have him to thank for me getting on a healthier life style.

Hi Serene, I see you are in Calif. We live in Idaho. We move here almost 5 years ago from So. Calif. Pop. of my town is 249. The next town is 1100. You could not believe the vegetarians here. There is even a Health Food Store in the larger town. I had a blast shopping there last week. They even sell fresh organic foods in the summer at the Farmers Market. Its a little too cold here, trying to get back to Calif.

Oh, Annette, it's awesome that you're finding foods that work for you, and yes, come back where it's warm! Smile

Well, what should I brag about . . . still thinking . . . that I am now wearing a size 7 jr. jeans or 6 miss! I was never that small as when I got married 30 years ago, my wedding dress was a size 8!

I feel great. I am learning new vegan recipes, and my college daughter is starting her own version of the kickstart with her roommates! This is my second time around on a vegan diet, and my goal is to stay vegan. I don't miss anything dairy. Had fun at Whole foods and bought a large variety of fresh made vegan meals. I took a day off from cooking today! All the best to you all!

Your destiny is on your plate! Eat to live!
