Decaf Green & Herbal Teas

I have difficulties with caffeine due to heart condition. Especially with the green teas which are supposed to be so good for you. A lot of the green teas, even decaf have a very "bitter" taste.

Here are a few of my favorites and the ones I've found to be milder/smoother in taste.

Celestial Seasonings

Decaf Madarin Orchard Green Tea

Country Peach Passion

Bigelow

Chamomile Mango

Sweet Dreams (blend of chamomile & mint) Good for an after dinner/ early evening cup of tea

Tetley

Decaffeinated Green Tea

Let me know what your favorite ones are?

Hi Craftycat,

I'm really digging a few rooibos teas I got from Republic of Tea. It's caffeine free, sometimes called red tea. I have an orange spice one and red vanillas and one with passionflower called Get Relaxed. Smile

I second the rooiboos suggestion, and like the other "red" tea, Honey Bush, which has some natural sweetness.

I also find teas that have chickory in them have a satisfying flavor, like Good Earth decaf and Davidson's Vanilla Creme (I think that's the name, but don't quote me).

I like Tazo Refresh - it's an herbal green tea and mint tea blend with a little tarragon and is supposed to be caffeine free (according to the box), though if I have more than a couple of cups of it, I do feel more energized - just not like I do with coffee. You can try it out at any Starbucks before you buy a whole box of it.

Although this is not decaf, I do like Tulsi Tea's Pomegranate Green Tea by ORGANIC INDIA.

If you have a local tea shop sometimes they will sell samples for you to try. I found a heavenly blend of berries at a little shop in Southwick, MA.

Everyone's taste is different... keep trying you will find something that works for you.
