Omega 3s

Thanks to Essie for the suggestions about brands of Omega 3s and B12.

I went to the natural food store over the weekend and purchased Spectrum Flax seed oil (has the other two in it). One thing I did notice is that it is very fattening. What's up with that? In the future, does anyone know about one that would be lower in Fat? I looked at all the ones available and they were all high in fat. I was very surprised.

You were right Essie the clerk told me that Spectrum is a great brand!

Well, omega3 is a type of fat. So you can't really get around that. But it doesn't take much. And Susan explained that if you lower the fat in the rest of your diet, the little bit of omega 3 fat is better used. Too much other fat gets in the way.

I don't take the flax oil. I eat 1 tbs of flax and/or an oz of walnuts and take the DHA as insurance. With the flax and walnuts I am getting the fiber and other nutrients along with the *healthy* fat. And they taste way better than plain oil!
