Brussels sprouts--bought 'em, now what?
Posted Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 10:20 AM
I've never even tried brussels sprouts, let alone prepared them. I bought some for dinner tonight (as a side to a lentil/quinoa stew). Anyone want to share their favorite way to make them?

I cut them in half and roast them in the oven. Put a little olive oil on them, mix up and roast at 450 oven on middle rack till nice and carmelized. Stir every once in a while. I think they take around 30 or so minutes.

I love brussels sprouts. I steam them, bake or roast them, cut them in quarters and stir fry with some cabbage and onions. Just talking about them and I want to go cook some! YUM!

Cut them in half........throw in the steamer basket until fork tender. I just eat them plain with a little salt. Love them

I love brussel sprouts! I steam them until fork tender, cut them in half, and then I saute them in evoo and garlic. I serve them over quinoa with a little terriyaki sauce sprinkled on top.

Thanks for all the brussels sprouts suggestions. My DH loves them, and I can barely stand them! Maybe one of these recipes will change my mind!

Yum-O! I made them for dinner--steamed half and then sauteed, and roasted the other half. Liked them both ways. I put tamari sauce on some as well, and that was tasty to me. Thanks for all the suggestions! They will get me through the next couple of weeks while I anxiously await asparagus season!

I buy them every week at the farmers market. Big and beautiful and so delicious. Ive found the way i like them best is to cut them in half, steam them for a few minutes then dump the water out and use the same pan to sautee them in a little olive or coconut oil and add spices. They are so good. I ussually serve them with spaghetti squash and a salad.

I bought some coconut oil and have not used any yet. I'll try it out! What spices to you use?
