Congratulations!! I have no experience with this but you'd probably want to check with the PCRM and nutritionMD websites as I'm pretty sure they have lots of info on this (and there are books about it as well). You'll probably want to increase the fat intake some (kickstart is really low fat).

Here is a short article talking about it. You wouldn't want to follow their specific menu advice, but it's a good overview. There are also many websites devoted to just this topic! Smile

Hi there!

Congrats on your pregnancy! What a coincidence - I am 4 months along on my first pregnancy myself. I'm a nutrition and cooking instructor for PCRM, so I did lots of research on the topic when I first became pregnant. PCRM has a factsheet here: http://www.pcrm.org/health/veginfo/pregnancy.html I combined this information along with the VRG link that Molly referred you to and developed a great food plan. My husband is an engineer, so he even made me a spreadsheet to track my daily food intake and it has been invaluable. I am happy to share it with you if you'd like to email me directly Smile

Basically, you'll need 8-10 glasses of water, 4-5 vegetable servings, 4-5 fruit servings, 2 servings of nuts/nut butters, 6 protein serivings and 8-10 servings of whole grains. We can chat more if you like.

Congrats again!
