Finally quit my coffee habit!
Posted Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 4:58 PM

It wasn't easy, but I finally quit coffee! I didn't realize how addicted I was to my drink. I drank it all day long. I look back now and I see I was drinking a very fattening drink. How was I to drop more pounds when I was drinking it with half and half? I think that was my final straw was the drive to drop more weight.

I basically made it weaker and weaker and then lost the taste for it. I have been off of coffee for about a month now. On a side note, I live with a coffee drinker, so that made it a tad more challenging....

I drink my coffee black (and watered down) so no calories, but I have learned that more than 1-2 cups per day takes my body too far to the acidic side and I start to retain water. Should not happen because caffeine is supposed to be a diuretic.
But higher than normal coffee plus chocolate last Jan-Feb put on 11 pounds of water weight quickly. I got puffy!! It came off just as quick when I learned how to correct back to an alkaline body.

Getting rid of any addiction is a cause for celebration! Congrats!

That's inspiring EJ. I still drink black coffee. 2 or 3 cups a day. Sometimes at night if I'm chilled I make tea. I've been thinking about cutting down to 1 cup a day.
