I joined the January kick start and am now participating in this one. I am disappointed to see the same foods. I was really hoping for more vegan ideas.

I've seen a number of people comment on this and I have a suggestion that might help. When we decided to go vegan as a family I immediately RAN (usually if you see me running there is a bear or perhaps an armed felon behind me) to the bookstore to begin a collection of vegan cookbooks (Yes, I have a book problem and I'm not ashamed to admit it). Instead, in a rare moment of fiscal clarity I bought a book called "The Complete Guide To Vegan Food Substitutions" so that I could simply use my current cookbooks but convert recipes to be vegan as needed and it's working out fabulously. TADA! No shortage of vegan recipes now.

this is jeff novicks facebook photo page of easy recipes. he has very simple and inexpensive meals here. he just lists the ingredients no amounts. just put in what you like. I have tried several and they are very good. They fit with this plan very nicely.

he just recently came out with a dvd of similar recipes. have your libray pick one up!

Just recently picked up a book called Veganize This! that has a bunch of cool vegan variations on familiar foods from around the world.

Mostly we just experiment. If you know why a certain combination 'works' the way it does, then you can figure out alternatives pretty easily. Fortunately, hubby is good at this.

All the cookbooks recommended are wonderful. We also have thousands of on-line recipes at NutritionMD.org. "Veganizing" from the cookbooks you already have is also a great way to try new recipes.

We use a whole range of stuff - we had to reorganize our kitchen bookshelves because we've now got an entire shelf of veg*n cookbooks!! When we modify a "regular" recipe (like our favorite brownie recipe), we type it up and put it into a 3 ring binder so that we can keep track of the modifications. We do the same when we find a favorite recipe online - print it and put it in the binder.

In addition to way too many vegetarian and vegan cookbooks, I have my own homemade cookbook where I put recipes I find on line or in magazines after I have tried and like them. It's a 3-ring binder with those clear plastic sleeves that you can get at the office supply store.

I do the same thing. I put my recipes in a 3 ring binder, in plastic sleeves.
First i print them out in word.. then i can adjust the font size & spacing & abreviations & color... then i print it on dollar store computer paper...
makes them look pretty.. and i can find my favorites fast.
