Yes, you can grill it - just spray it with Pam or oil and spray the grill, too, or it probably will stick. If you like that polenta, you should try making it yourself - it's much better and it's really easy to make.

thank you.. and yes i will try making it myself.. it's just when purchasing the first time.. i had a hard time finding any polenta.. it took 3 store clerks.. by the time we found it..we found the rolls.. there was no dry polenta next to it.. so i figured they didn't have it..no one seemed to know what DRY polenta was.. well i went into another store and happened to notice a bag of bobs red mill corn grits.. with big letters that said "also known as polenta" i was jumping up and down.. (a 52 year old woman jumping up and down in a supermarket might not be as pretty as it sounds) "i found it, i found it" it is downright scary to think what will happen when i find oat bran!

You can substitute corn meal for polenta in a pinch. Cornmeal has a finer grind than cornmeal though so the texture is different. But cornmeal will work (but not grits which is just another type of cornmeal). I usually make my own these days, but sometimes I buy the tube for convenience. It does come with some fun flavors, like sundried tomato. I like to cut it into circles and pan "fry" it (no oil, or just a spritz of cooking spray) and then top with maranara and veggies. Very tasty.

Hmmm, yes, confusing. But I think the corn grits, also known as polenta is the right thing. Apparently there are many forms of grits.
