Help for Evening Munchies
Posted Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 10:33 PM

My hardest time is in the evening when I just want to munch. I've tried a new habit and it really helps! After supper, when I know I've had enough, I go brush my teeth then and there instead of waiting until just before I go to bed. I never want to eat after getting clean teeth, so, the temptation to snack is gone. Yippee!

That's a good one. Works for me too. Smile

Another thing that helps in the evenings--herbal teas. I love the rooibos ones, and there are many fruit-infused ones that are kind of sweet. Chamomile-lemon. Peppermint. They're all very comforting and give you something warm to smell and taste.

Just had my cup. Good night. Smile

Kimchan, sounds like a good strategy.

I've found that the number one thing for heading off evening munchies is to eat to satisfaction earlier in the day. Something about a little stored hunger that can override your best intentions!

I probably shouldn't even tell what my answer to the late-night munchies is. Cool

Airpopped popcorn with flavored salt, steamed kale with vinegar, apple pnut butter and walnuts and raisins.

I work from home and do most of my work at night, so I either brush my teeth or, if that's not working, I chew on a piece of gum. If I don't have to work, sometimes I just go to bed early if nothing else is working.
