Quick Homemade Non-dairy milk

The non-dairy milks are expensive and often contain table sugar, and sometimes even some transfat.

Here is something we do at home, and it's great over the Ezekiel cereal or the base of a smoothie.

* 4 bananas
* 1 cup water
* 2 tsp vanilla
* dash sea salt
*8 ice cubes (Or you can use frozen bananas if you have a good blender)

Any blendor should be fine, but I use the BlenTec on "Smoothie" for a perfect un-milk.

Looks interesting but sounds a bit like it would add a banana flavor - great for cereal and smoothies but not sure how it would work in more savory recipes that call for milk (like creamy soups). Have you given it a whirl in those type applications? How did it work?

We are mostly raw (75%), so no I haven't cooked with it.

Very refreshing over raw sprouted quinoa that has been mixed in apple pulp and cinnamon and dehydrated crispy or as a drink with dinner or a base for a smoothie.
