reformed stress eater?

I am a stress eater - always have been and I think that adds to having weight problems. When I get stressed I eat. The opposite is my sister - when she is stressed she loses her appetite completely and has to force herself to eat. Two days ago there was a very unexpected death in the family (suicide) that is obviously a stressful and sad event. I just realised that I have continued to eat what I call 'kickstart food' and not reached for the chocolate, for alcohol, or for anything that I would have previously indulged in for comfort. I haven't wanted it. So a side effect of the kickstart and low-fat vegan eating is that it seems to be helping me deal with stress in a more appropriate manner. Interesting.... I never considered that when I decided to change my eating for health reasons, that it would help my mental health as well as my physical...
