Fish Oil

I've been doing great on this program however I just realized that
that I've been eating fish oil supplements 2 x's a day in my doctor prescribed
vitamen packs. What is an appropriate alternative?
Also, could these oil supplements contribute to weight gain?
Need advice.

Hi Plantris,

Use the SEARCH function to look for the previous threads on omega 3s. Susan Levin had some very helpful information that she's posted a couple of different times, but it may no longer be on the front page. The search should pull it up for you easily.

Fish oil capsules typically are about 10 calories each. So 2xdayx365= 7300 calories/year or about 2.1 pounds/year. Calorie wise, omega 3 replacers will (necessarily) have oil (and calories) in them as well. One of the nice things about this program is that you will reduce your omega 6 intake and thus you will need less added omega 3 to achieve an optimum ratio.
