PCOS be Gone
Posted Friday, April 8, 2011 at 2:11 AM
Oh, what a journey I am on - and loving it. I have PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome. You either have it or know someone who does, as they estimate that 10% of women in child-bearing years have it, and most don't know it. Not good. It's one of the leading causes of female infertility. Anywho - I decided to do this 21-day kickstart to do just that - kickstart a new way of living to manage, combust, obliterate and say ta-ta to PCOS for good. Sure, there is no cure - I can deal - but I am going to manage it, lose the weight, eat and live healthy, and who knows, a little mini-me might appear in the very near future. I'm committed to a new way of life for my health and the health of my family and friends. I'd be interested in connecting with other Cysters to see how it's going for you and offer my assistance, motivation, encouragement or a good 'ole kick in the pants. Believe and it shall be. Shining bright and healthy, Corrie Ann http://PCOSRevolution.wordpress.com

Hi CorrieAnn, there are a couple of us out there - that know it (see our previous post in this forum). As I posted before, I am really interested in seeing how this works for you. This is the first eating plan that I have tried that works for me!!! I wonder if it has something to do with the PDOS. Are you willing to share some more info (I'm 50 and was diagnosed 13 years ago, I'm overweight and irregular without metformin).

I wasnt specifically diagnosed with PCOS, but i did have cysts on my ovaries and in my uterus, along with endometriosis and adhesions. I was told I'd never have kids 5 years ago and "needed a hysterectomy". Im happy to tell you that this diet has changed my life! No more reproductive issues and im 4 months pregnant (naturally)! Hang in there - youre on the right track! You can read my full story on my website for more. Good luck amd thanks for sharing - Katherine

Thanks Theodore - this is a great journey so far. Now if I could only get my family to join the team. I'm working on them. theodore wrote: Wow, what a great message and what a great blog you have CorriAnn. Wishing you the best for your Kickstart journey. Theodore

@veggies4me (love the name!) - I'll search through the forum for other PCOS threads. My endo highly recommended PCRM, so I checked out the site. I went back to her and said "Are you saying I should go vegan?" She laughed and said to try it. After the 21-days I can decided to add in chicken and fish if I feel I need it. I'm shocked I've gone 7 days totally vegan. This is huge coming from an Iowa meat-eating mom who is now 80 and lives with me. LOL. What sort of info would you like me to share? I'm 43, self-diagnosed PCOS about 6 years ago because my GP couldn't figure it out. Went to endo and she diagnosed me 5 years ago. I don't have ovarian cysts but I have all of the other symptoms - some managed more than others. I am overweight now - and really bummed because I lost 30 pounds on 2009, gained 27 of them back and here I am. In two days on this plan I lost 1 pound and I'll weigh myself every Monday and blog about it (can you believe I shared my weight on my blog? LOL), pics and all. Until next time - blessings. veggies4me wrote: Hi CorrieAnn, there are a couple of us out there - that know it (see our previous post in this forum). @ Katherine - thanks for your note, and I'm so happy for your blessing. At 43 I sometimes start to wonder if motherhood will come naturally for me. If not, there are plans to adopt. I am confident that this way of eating and being will change my life for good. I'm going to check out your site now. (Great job with the videos!). At 43 I sometimes start to wonder if motherhood will come naturally for me. If not, there are plans to adopt I had help getting pregnant (artificial insemination) at the age of 36 and had twins. I got severe hyperstimulation -- ovaries swelled to the size of grapefruits. It was a teaching hospital and they took pictures Really need to watch out for those polycystic ovaries!! I looked like I was 9 months pregnant -- not a good thing. Then after the twins were born I gained weight and was 233 lbs. Well, after a while I went on a diet and lost about 70 lbs and oops without trying (too much got pregnant without help. Losing weight made a difference for me.
