Alcohol is okay. It fits the low-fat, vegan rule. However, do remember drinking calories can be a nutrient-poor way to pack in calories quickly. Also, more than one drink per day for women increases some cancer risks, more than two for men. If you have a history of breast cancer in the family, the recommendation is zero alcohol.

Cheers!

You may want to do your own careful research. Even in Napa Valley, California, many servers are not aware that many wines are not vegan. When I wanted to find something for the special occasions I actually emailed the manufacturer and asked questions a few never responded and a few got back to me the only one I found at that time it was vegan is a Moscaoto Sutter Home. That is a sweet dessert wine but if I drink I'm a wimp. You may have to do more research for a good red or a dry white.

Please excuse errors you find as I don't have internet yet and this is sent from my phone. The print it's pretty tiny!

Best wishes,
Kym

http://www.barnivore.com/

This web-site will tell you which drinks are vegan, which aren't.

ALL of it is empty calories. When I drink wine I don't lose weight. Period. That doesnt' mean I don't, just saying.
