BEGINNING KICKSTART: SEPT. 5 WEIGH IN!!
Posted Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 7:59 PM

Starting tomorrow (9/5/11) post your stats, age, weight height!!! GOOD Luck. It will be nice to see where we are at the end of all this, hopefully not just weight loss, but feeling energized and really good!!! I'm going to take my measurements too. They usually show much more than just a # on the scale.

I'll do it. This time I'm not as concerned with my weight, but also need to lose another 15 lbs. So, that last sentence contridicted itself. What I meant to say was, this time I am concentrating on getting the recipes down and having the rest be a benefit.
I do need to exercise and it's looking like the next 21 days are going to be BEAUTIFUL in the NW. So, getting outdoors will help.
Bring it!!

Here is my starting point:
Age - 46
Height - 5'8"
Weight - 159.0

I too do not want to focus on the # on the scale. It does bad things to me. I know it is a tool used to measure progress... I did take my measurements. That seems to show much better progress anyway... It would be nice to break the 150 mark and get into the 140's. A year ago I was 146 and felt and looked really good for me, hoping to get back there and stay!!! (probably not all the way there in 21 days, but off to a good start) Here we go!!!!!

This is not a diet, it's a lifestyle. For me it's more about gaining and maintaining health. Losing weight is just a bonus. Would be interesting to see how much I can lose in 3 weeks. I won't be changing my eating much, I have been vegan since the January 2010 Kickstart. But I may reduce some portions, see if I can lose a little weight.

This morning I weigh 125.5, I'm 5'2", 59 years old.

Good morning all and happy first day of the kickstart!!

My weigh in stats after hopping on the scale at the gym yesterday;
Age - 39
Height - 5'8
Weight - 186

It's hard for me to focus on weight, because I have been quite lean in the past. I was 145 at one point, after weighing in at over 200 lbs. It was certainly not a healthy weight and I hadn't been to the gym in a long time. I made the decision in 2000 to get healthy, I quit smoking, stopped eating sugar and joined the gym. In 18 months I went from 36% body fat to 14% (very hard for me to maintain). I put on a lot of muscle and my weight slowly climbed to 160 where I sat comfortably!
In 2006 I became a firefighter and slowly put on weight thanks to the huge meals and the enormous amounts of meat. We ate from huge platters and by the time we got our meals ready (cook our own meals around calls, etc) I was so hungry, I ate everything on my plate! The steaks, or chicken or pork was enough for two people every time!
In the past couple of years I have dealt with an equally enormous amount of stress and put on some weight, then this broke my coccyx and sustained a severe concussion. Quite a year... My weight climbed to192 (maybe more, as I was unable to go to the gym and get on the scale). I have lost a few pounds thanks to controlling my eating. I tend to stress eat, so I'm working on that too!!
As for my weight goal, I would like to eventually get back to 160. I know this is a starting point for some people, but that puts me in a size 8 and feeling great. I come from a long line of very tall and large people, haha, so any lighter and I think I would look a little silly (with the added muscle), besides there's nothing light in the fire service and it's nice to have the weight to push and pull with!!

All of that being said, I am really excited to start this kickstart! I did the 21 day gluten, caffeine, sugar cleanse a while ago and felt incredible... although I'm back on the caffeine! Embarassed

I am looking forward to ridding my fridge of all animal products!! It looks wonderful in there right now and I am currently smelling my apple cinnamon oatmeal cooking!!!

Sorry for the long post! Just very excited!!

Like most, I am doing this for health and wellness. The added bonus of wt loss is just awesome. I've always been thin but put on approx. 20lbs over the year. I am new to this lifestyle after contemplating it for a awhile now. Looking forward to the journey!

Hello all!

Starting at:

Height: Just under 5'4"
Weight: 154
Age: 50

I've been vegetarian since January 1993 with occasional spurts of being vegan. For the animals suffering in the dairy industry, for the environment and for my health, I'm trying again. I also also want to lose the approximately 20 pounds I've gained in the past two years. I'm committing to eating better -- and also exercising better and more.

Age: 47 yr. old female
Height: 4 ft. 10.5 in.
Weight: 113.5 lbs.

Last year I did the Kickstart for the first time and lost 10 lbs. I would really love to lose 8.5 lbs. It would be especially great to do it before the Jewish holidays in late Sept.

Good luck to all!

I've been on Atkins for months and dropped 10 lbs. Now I'm starting to gain and I'm bored with my food choices. After seeing Sanjay Gupta on CNN I'm ready to do something completely different.
