Weight loss
Posted Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 9:31 AM

Have been on the kickstart for 16 days! I'm active and not overweight, but I am surprised that I have not even lost a pound on this program. I usually eat dessert every day, but on the program, as most baked goods at parties etc are not vegan, I've gone without. I'm certain I'm eating a lot less calories than usual. Not trying to lose a lot of weight but it would be great to see a couple of pounds come off. Anyone else in the same boat or have suggestions?

If your body is at its preferred size, just be happy about that, is my advice.

There are a couple of earlier threads with lots of good info and advice, particularly posts by Lani Muelrath, who explains how higher-fiber diets can initially hold on to more water, etc.

You can use the SEARCH function at the top of the forum to find her posts, or just look for the "Weight Loss" threads in the menu.

Another thing some people are finding helpful is to post (or privately journal) their daily menus. It just raises your awareness about exactly what you are eating (and drinking). There are at least 2 different threads going for this at the moment. I find it helpful to do this for a couple of weeks and then look back at my trends and see how that syncs up with how I'm feeling, or my weight/clothing fit, etc.

Good luck.
