Weird foods?
Posted Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 2:23 AM

I have a post up on my blog asking what the weirdest thing you've eaten on the kickstart is. If you feel like it, head over there to respond, or answer here. The URL is http://serenecooking.livejournal.com/77552.html

This isn't all that weird, I suppose, but some might find it an odd combo. It's called "Bubble and Squeak" and is usually made with leftover vegetables. I didn't have any so made it from scratch.

Mashed potatoes
Steamed onions, green cabbage, carrots

Mix all together with a titch of (vegan) margarine, salt and pepper and prepare to eat a bowl of comfort food. Very Happy

All we are saying is "Give Peas a Chance"

Oh, I love bubble & squeak! I find plain mashed potatoes boring, but add stuff and I'm there.

A cabbage leaf spread with a thin layer of natural peanut butter and then rolled up. I was first introduced to it as a child at summer camp--it was called Walking Salad. Sounds dreadful, but yesterday it was a quick yummy snack to tide me over until dinner!

Ha ha, that does sound weird. But I love cabbage. So I'm gonna try that. Smile
