I don't mind answering questions about Dr. Weil! He is on our advisory board. We may not agree 100 percent on every issue, but we certainly appreciate his input on various matters.

Well I deleted it because I had second thoughts about whether my question was relevant to the purpose of this forum. But if it's okay with you I'll repost it. I used to frequent his website before I was completely vegan, then I noticed he was pro-wild fish, and couldn't understand ... especially when one of his audio meditations has "may all beings be free from suffering". Now I see this article: http://liberationwellnessblog.com/2010/07/27/is-dr-andrew-weil-now-championing-the-cause-of-high-fat-low-carb-living ... which seems like even more of a departure from what the PCRM espouses, and wonder what value he contributes to the goals of the PCRM at this point.

I hear what you are saying. We are still open to hearing what he has to say on certain matters. Obviously, we would never promote a high-fat diet, especially one that has fish in it.

But isn't whether fish/fish oil is good for you a huge bone of contention? And now, the need for fat in the human diet? Man I'd love to be a fly on the wall at your meetings. So can you tell us on what issues you value his opinion?

I think his general promotion of a whole-foods, plant-BASED diet has been an underlying theme throughout his career. I remember reading some of his books in the 90s and thinking he made some good points.
