Newbie Question
Posted Monday, March 8, 2010 at 3:14 PM

Hi! I came across this site while doing some research on a healthy eating plans. I have wanted to give up meat, mostly a fish eater at this point anyways and thought this challenge would be a great way to get started. I see that the challenge started on March 1, will there be a challenge available for April? When I get started with the challenge, do I have to follow the meal plan or am I able to make substitutions as long as they are vegan? I try to avoid bread. Thanks!

Hello! We will have other 21-day Kickstart programs. I think our next one will start in September though. A bit of a gap in time.

The program is vegan (no animal products) but that doesn't mean eating anything that is vegan is necessarily healthful. We try to educate people on the benefits of eating lots of whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, beans, and grains. Oreo cookies and french fries are vegan - but not a good basis for a healthful diet.

You should stick around for this Kickstart. It's always good to let the seeds wiggle around in the soil a bit, get comfortable.

I hope we hear from you in September if not throughout March.
