could probably make those in the oven - slice the apple into thin rings, sprinkle with cinnamon (and/or other spices - nutmeg, ginger, etc) and bake at the lowest setting on the oven until dried out. That's how we dry herbs like basil and thyme at our house since we don't have a really suitable place to hang them to dry.

Oooo I like that idea!

My son likes to take the peelings from the apples (like when making a pie and you've got those long strips), dredging them in cinnamon sugar, then we putting them on parchment and bake alongside the pie for a bit. We end up with caramel apple shoestrings.

Really tasty but quite a bit too much straight sugar for me.

They probably would be very easy to make at home. Thanks for the tip

They only cost about $5.69 for a 14 oz. pkg......so great price for the convenience Smile

Nice to have on hand when you're in a hurry
