Bugsmom Joined: 09/13/10 Posts: 2072	RE: Yummy "sweet" snack Posted Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 1:02 PM could probably make those in the oven - slice the apple into thin rings, sprinkle with cinnamon (and/or other spices - nutmeg, ginger, etc) and bake at the lowest setting on the oven until dried out. That's how we dry herbs like basil and thyme at our house since we don't have a really suitable place to hang them to dry. --Deb

Bugsmom Joined: 09/13/10 Posts: 2072	RE: Yummy "sweet" snack Posted Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 1:09 PM My son likes to take the peelings from the apples (like when making a pie and you've got those long strips), dredging them in cinnamon sugar, then we putting them on parchment and bake alongside the pie for a bit. We end up with caramel apple shoestrings. Really tasty but quite a bit too much straight sugar for me. --Deb
