Life changing

I just want to say this has been a pleasantly fun experience . That is just what I went into this think...An experience to say I did. Boy was I wrong! I don't miss the meat, cheese, or dining out. I love cooking now, and I am willing to try any new recipe. I also feel so clear headed in all areas of my life. It is almost a natural progression, an enlightening experience. I now feel like if I spend so much on what goes in than what comes out should be just as important. So a much more positive, peaceful, calm way has come over me. By taking the time to slow down, think, I can really capture the moment. My family has also seen the positive effects. What a blessing.

So, like I said...I had NO idea this would be such a life changing way. Thank you for this great experience and renewed out look on life.

Hey Sandra,

What a glowing report!

What were your dietary guidelines before the Kickstart, if I may ask? It's interesting to see what kinds of changes people have had to make. A great reflecting point for those after you who will be inspired by your experience.

Congratulations!

This has been life changing for me too. I'm just getting over 3 years of being sick and I want to do everything I can to not get sick like that again. I really do believe that the vegan lifestyle will help me in achieving that goal. I've been tempted a few times to give in and have an egg, or some dairy, but just thinking about how much better I feel without eating all of that bad stuff, and my very supportive husband who encourages me not to cheat, keeps me from giving in to temptation. I'm going to continue with the vegan lifestyle when the 21 days is over. It's so wonderful to be eating foods that are so tasty and so good for me. How could I not continue? I'm feeling better than I have in a long time.

Lani- to answer your question...I thought I was eating healthy. All my friends have said I was the health freak of the bunch.

My meals were typically like this:
B: steel-cut oatmeal with a glass of milk
L: a big spinach salad w/ tons of veggies with baked chicken breast
S: Latte & fruit
D: Typical heavy meal, meat/fish potatoes and a veggie
I can say that about a year ago I gave up all "white", sugar and processed foods, but I still ate out and had no idea what was in my prepackaged "healthy" food.
I ate more veggies than the USDA recommend and watched my fat and calories...LOL. Now I know the USDA is a mere very basic guideline for us brainwashed Americans who have no idea what we are eating.
For 21 days I have made every bite that has gone into my body...I AM in control.

My new motto is:
Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a peasant.

Cheers to a healthy, mindful, better way to live!

sandra4: Ditto for me. I have had the same experience. I did start in November after reading his book, Reversing Diabetes, so it has now been 3 months and I am still enjoying this program. On friends, I just say I am eating Vegetarian and Healthier.

You know, I feel this was life changing as well. Coming off of Christmas, I had the lingering affects of stress and wasn't sure what I was going to do. I could tell I was beginning to feel depressed and anxious and generally not happy with life. Some of this is due to it being Winter and I typically get a little down in the dumps when the sun hasn't shined for days or more! But, I wasn't feeling like myself and I didn't like it.

Since starting this (I technically started December 27th. Wanted to give a test run before it really started) I feel calmer, happier and more loving to my family and my fur babies too. I learned things that I wasn't really aware of and am proud that I am not contributing to what goes on in the factory farms any longer. I am truly grateful I found this kickstart and made the decision to commit to it.
