Posted Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7:40 AM

Hi All,
Last nights Yoga was good.. a little bit of a workout, a lot of stretching and relaxing. the girl next to me feel asleep.. started snoring.. i was surprised she woke up when the teacher said start to wiggle your parts to come out of the relaxation.

I have a 6 wk class in that now.. and am thinking about Zumba. Has anyone taken Zumba?

oh ....foood...
b- same..cereal, banana (yep i got em now) coffee
l-chili
d-honey made a verison of one of jeff novicks dishes.. whole wheat pasta, 3 kinds of beans, mixed veggies, 2 cans of tomatoes w/chili peppers. (hummm that is a lot of salt)

i guess one of my jobs this weekend will be to cook at least 2 kinds of beans & freeze parts. that is just too much canned.. but it was quick!

D: Not sure yet but whatever I make, we have to have salad with it or the lettuce will go bad. lol

For dinner last night, we scrapped the soup idea and decided to eat at a raw place nearby. We split tacos on lettuce leaves (the taco meat was a mix of different nuts), two salads and a raw crab cake. Unfortunately, nothing was left, so I don't have any leftovers for lunch today.

Breakfast for me is usually the same:
A slice of ww toast with hummus, a smoothie and a glass of unsweetened iced tea. But lately, that's not been enough to keep me from starting to snack by 10 am. This morning, I added a handful of almonds to my breakfast and it really helped.

L - Kale salad with some citrus dressing I made yesterday, probably an apple as well.

D - Cauliflower soup, hopefully.

I have tried Zumba. It was way too hard for my uncoordinated self! But looked like fun if you can learn the steps. I'm more of a yoga gal I think.

b: steel cut oats with almond milk, cinnamon and raisins
s: watermelon
l: leftover snap meal from last night (brown rice, mixed frozen veggies, tomatoes, white beans with Italian seasoning)
s: TBD.
d: unknown right now. I took a box of couscous out of the cupboard this morning thinking I'll do something with that. Maybe a salad of some sort.

I definately need some yoga...

B: Mix of grapenuts and wheatberries, rice milk, pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries, and strawberries. Coffee of course... (I need to give it up)

L: Brown rice and veggie stir fry with sprouted whole wheat sourdough bread and hummus.

S: probably watermelon again...

D: I'm thinking I am going to try the Tofurkey Italian Sausage in a bean soup... all that talk about beans on the other thread got me thinking!

Dinner update. I had the couscous and built from that.

I sauteed a bag of baby spinach, roughly chopped, in veggie broth. When it was all wilted, I added (approx... I don't measure) 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp sweet curry, and 1 can of drained and rinsed garbanzo beans. Cooked until hot and water absorbed. Salt and pepper to taste. Separately I made the couscous according to the package directions, and added some raisins and chopped dried apricots.

I served the spinach over the couscous.

It was very good. Next time I would maybe add some lemon or other seasoning to the couscous as it was a bit bland.
