First week: Height - 5'7" Weight - 160 Age - 68 Second week: Weight - 157 Age - 40 (ha ha on the age -- I feel that much better!!! This has been an awesome week for me. New things to try - some good, some not so good! But I'm doing it - I'm 100% on board with this. I feel fantastic. I would like the weight to get a bit lower, but it is what it is!! As long as I'm doing what I know I should be doing, it will be where it's supposed to be. One thing about weight, for me, is to realize a number that I want may not be a healthy number. So as I said I'll do what I'm doing, exercising, eating right and plant based, and let the numbers fall where they may!! Good luck everyone!!

Hi all, I lost 3 pounds and -- even better -- feel incredibly healthy and energized! I'm pleased that I've stuck with the plan: vegan diet, minimal processed foods, daily exercise, watching out for emotional (over)eating. It's working!

No weight loss for me this week but at least there was no weight gain either so thats good. I have been good about low fat eating all week but gave in over the weekend and had vegan chocolate brownies Thought I had better be honest so you know why I have not had any weight loss. And yes - after a week of no sweets I felt somewhat sick afterwards. So thats my punishment and my share of sweet treats until Christmas ! I noticed those who have posted so far have all lost weight (congratulations to you all) but if anyone else is reading this and hasnt lost weight - you are not alone

To kiwi: I haven't lost anything either. I started eating plant-based in May but really became more focused this week. I have felt bloated and been very gassy. I do not understand why this is happening.

I do not understand why this is happening. This if often due to the additional fiber if you are having more beans/legumes than previous, until your body gets used to it. Others have found the same thing in the kickstart. This should pass (pardon the pun) as your body gets used to the new foods or more of familiar foods.

Start: 169 Current: 167 My fav thing is that I went shopping last week for new clothing. I hadn't shopped in years and my clothing was really baggy (prior to this kickstart, over the last 6 years, I've gone from somewhere around 215-220 down to the current). People were even commenting on how baggy things were looking. So I went shopping (big sale PLUS coupon for additional percentage off the whole purchase!) I was wearing 22/24 women's jeans, so I figured I'd look for size 20s - comfy but not as baggy. I was going around in circles trying to find them. Finally I just grabbed the largest size jeans on the nearest rack to try on "just to see", get a feel for the right range. Turned out, what I grabbed was size 16 and it FIT! I could zip and button and all and even BEND OVER! But, for day to day use (and the random fluctuations thereof) I opted for one size up. I haven't been a size 18 for somewhere over 20 years. So I bought 3 pair of jeans (that's what I wear to work as well as for play) and then bought some men's medium t-shirts (usually I get men's XL or XXL - I love the feel of the Hane's men's t-shirts). I've gotten more comments (positive ones) in the last week, now that I'm no longer cocooned in bulky layers of me and baggy clothing. And my hubby was hubba hubba when he first saw me in figure showing garb - after nigh on 18 years of marriage, he still likes my curves --Deb R

I didn't do very well on lowering the salt or fat in my diet yet. I did well on all plant based, but that didn't cause any weight loss. I'm still carrying around 7 extra lbs. and a couple of lbs. of water. This week I'm trying to fine tune it a bit.

I'm still carrying around 7 extra lbs. and a couple of lbs. of water. This week I'm trying to fine tune it a bit. The fat is the hardest for me. I grew up on a fairly low sodium plan because my mom (who did the cooking) is a heart patient so low sodium was the name of the game. By the time I was an adult and could choose on my own, adding salt at the table was foreign and high salt foods burned my mouth. So that part was fairly easy for me (it took a couple years to re-train my hubby since he's the main cook and always has been in our household). But fat, that lovely mouth feel and flavor of fat...ah. that's still the hard part. Hubby (still the head chef at our house) is slowly adjusting to water/broth sauteing but other sorts of fat are still harder to lose. Mostly it hits me when I'm expecting a creamy something - things that used to have mayo or sour cream. But, I think I'm on the trail of a good mayo sub (since the soy based variety won't work for me). One thing at a time - if I slip into a spoonful of sour cream on occasion, I just try to make it less than it was "before" (a dab instead of a glob) and try to get rid of it next time. --Deb R
