Three days now
Posted Monday, March 15, 2010 at 6:13 PM

I know I see some of your posts saying you are hungry. But I am so surprised at how 'at peace' I feel with food.

I am a Type II diabetic. I have been managing my sugars at a A1C of always under 6.0 I never felt good about taking meds and am so happy I am not on them. I have 80 pds to lose and hope that I this program will be the answer to that. But I decided that one day at a time, this is a permanente choice for me. It isn't because I love animals or believe we shouldn't eat them. Just the opposite. But for today, I believe that to cure the horrible things I've done to my body for the last 55 years, this will, along with my faith in God, heal me.

I am very thankful for seeing the PBS program with I call Dr. Neil. He wasn't a crazy veggan but seemed so down-to-Earth. I am always full. But more than that, after I eat, my head isn't in the kitchen for the next 4 hours. Hope this inspires someone to try. I know it's only been 3 days, but I am shocked at how great I feel. Be blessed! kc

I saw Dr. Barnard on that PBS show as well. Isn't he just a sweetie pie?! Yes,very down-to-earth and easy to understand.

Good luck with your weight loss and congratulations on your good A1C results!

Thank you for your response. I am finishing day three and finding that if I make a double batch of whatever, it tastes even better the next day.

Although i am on a very fixed income and tend to purchase the same foods for the month. I can see I need to be very careful not to get monotonous with my food.

Be blessed, kc

I love this way of eating. I wish I'd learned about it when I was younger. I'm only hungry when I get up in the A.M. I feel so much better. The foods taste so much better now. Who knew nutrition could taste so good. Laughing

Hi Marcia,

If I would have known this then, I still wouldn't have done it. Whoever said youth is waisted on the young wrote it for me.

I tried so hard with symptoms of hypoglycemia and no doctor would ever say they believed in it. I was constantly eating to bring up my sugars only to make it worse. But I just thank God that I saw this program. This man really makes it all make sense. Well, it's day 3 and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I made a cold salad of brown rice, black beans, calamata olives (very few diced up) purple onion, cucumbers, and carrots. It is so good. Tomorrow, I think I'll make a veggie tomatoe concoction over rice spagetti noodles. (I'm am trying to obstain from wheat products also. Be blessed, kc
