ok to have raw peanuts / nuts?
Posted Monday, November 18, 2013 at 2:21 AM

I have recently been checking out some recipes online for making my own milk and nut butters, using peanuts / almonds / cashews. I have a lot of raw peanuts that my parents get often from our Indian grocery store, along with lots of almonds. Are these safe to consume raw, like blending / grinding it up and then using either as nut butter for veggies, or straining the liquid to drink afterwards?

Thanks =) I had a good experience making peanut butter yesterday, however it seemed to irritate my stomach and gave me digestion issues so I'm thining maybe it's the raw nuts I'm not used to...maybe stick to roasted nuts?

Raw nuts are generally safe, although nothing is guaranteed safe. You could take raw nuts and roast them yourself, see if that helps.
