Goals met
Posted Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 9:46 PM
Hi, Don't know if I lost weight in just 3 weeks, except a couple lbs, but goals met include: no pork, chicken, beef, or turkey no ice cream no eggs no cheese Whey or milk slipped in low on the ingredient list on a couple items, but other than that, it's been a healthy journey! How could it not improve health to eliminate cheese and most processed foods?

You go girl!! I never thought I could live without cheese either but guess what? I'm still alive! And with all of the (unusual) rain weve had in Phoenix and all of the weeds that have popped up all over the city, Im not sneezing my head off and all mucousy (is that a word?) this year. Meat is Murder! Veggies is life! Yea for us!!

WOO HOO, I have lost 15 pounds as of this morning, I feel great and have NO DESIRE to go back to my old ways. I have ordered a few cookbooks, including Skinny Bitch in the Kitch and after looking through the recipes I am soooo ready to start living my life as a healthy person. I have also ordered some leaflets from VeganOutreach.com and have recruited some people from work to give Vegan a try. Today is the first day of the rest of my healthier and happier life.

You will find this continuing over time, if indeed you have weight to lose. Go the distance and you will not be sorry. Nice work! Lani

Oh, I guess I should also post my goals met: I actually started with the January Kickstart. I've been vegan 2 years, but used this plan (and Dr. Fuhrman's ETL) to further tweak my meals to get a little closer to my goal weight. Since Jan 1, I'm down 11.5 lbs. This time around, I discovered eliminating wheat (at least for now) cleared up a persistent rash on my neck. Who knew? I was eating too much seitan and bread. Now I feel great...just in time for spring. I thought the no-added oils thing would be hard...but it really wasn't. That olive oil may just have to go into the next batch of body scrub I make...along with the turbinado sugar, because I'm not using that anymore either! Please post your successes/healthy new habits too. I love to read them.

Congrats on your progress and thanks for being a part of 21, uh, I mean 42 days! Lani

Since "going vegan" on Feb 1, I have lost 17 pounds. I have more energy, and no more alternating constipation/diarrhea! I am super excited about this new way of eating and taking care of myself, trying new foods, etc. I haven't even been real strict with myself yet -- still using some oils, having some sugar, coffee, etc. -- so going forward I plan to work more on those areas to eliminate those things from my diet along with the meat and dairy.

Ukprincess, now that is one big kickstart! Congratulations and no wonder you want to spread the word! What were the biggest changes you made with the 21 Day Kickstart? Lani[/quote] LOL Big changes? Hmm, where do I start. I stayed away from the drive through window, that was the biggest change. Let's just say, I cleaned out my cabinets on week two, threw away all the junk (much to the dismay of my eight year old daughter) and restocked with healthy foods, whole grains, fruit, veggies that I had never ventured to try before and replaced all the baking supplies with whole wheat. I also ordered a couple of Vegan Cook books, including the Skinny "Witch" in the Kitch book, which has a TON of recipes. I can't say that anything in our house is the same and I am fine with that. Now. . .my husband returns home in a couple of weeks, LOL, let's see if he divorces me.
I hope everyone had an amazing experience and we can ALL continue to "eat compassionately!"
