OT: Is anyone able to use the links in emails?
Posted Friday, January 29, 2010 at 4:42 PM
Hi, all, I'm back after a week away (kid started college, etc.) and it seems all the forum links in my email reminders go to the pcrmdev site and give me a bad page. Is everyone else who uses the email reminders able to get to the new forum address okay; is it just me?

Nope, have to go to the site, find the link, find the thread and respond from there. To be honest, it's a bit time consuming and I'm not sure how long I will keep doing it. Was MUCH nicer when all you had to do was click on the link. Not sure why they took that away just because the 21 days are up. Makes me hesitant to do the next one in March. Seems like you just get going, make some friends, find some chats you like and it's over! Maybe they could create a "Vegan Community" that is ongoing and doesn't end after 3 weeks.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure when this started happening. As soon as they blocked out public access I presume. But I too have had to type in the url everytime to get to this forum. The best the IT folks can do is have the link in your email go to a page that will then contain a link that does work (instead of an error message). They are working on this now. Sorry about the confusion.

The links in email notifications from the site should now all contain working links so no additional workarounds will be needed. Please continue to let us know of any additional problems using the forums. Thanks.

And now I can barely wait for someone to reply so I can test it.

I'm not convinced it works yet, but I'm sure it will soon. On the note of other message boards, we actually do have a non-Kickstart specific message board all year round. You can find it here: http://www.pcrmfoundation.org/gethealthyForum.cfm. It started out as a diabetes resource but has blossomed into an anything vegan and health goes message board. You will see we used it for our pilot Kickstart back in fall 2009. Up to you guys though!

Nope, still not working. I'll totally go check out the other board, though, thanks, Susan. Oh, and if anyone's interested, I am on Susan V.'s fatfreevegan recipe listserv, and it's great (sometimes slow, but can get lively; the archives rock); however, anything besides vegan, no-added-fat recipes or cooking discussions is off-topic, so some people find that a little constricting. It's at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fatfree_vegan.

I was wondering why I could still link to the September kickstart but not the January.
