Green Smoothie mistake

just sharing, in case you get a dumb idea like this one. Parsley is full of potassium, so I thought wow that should be great in a smoothie. Wrong! (LOL) fruit & parsley did not mix. (I'm drinking it anyway)

Another one to watch out for is mustard greens. I figured if I added stevia it couldn't be too bad. WRONG! lol

...and dont try silver beet in place of spinach. It's the only home made smoothie I have had to throw out. I just couldn't force myself to drink it. Yuck!

Try using Kale or Spinach is what I use to make my smoothies and fruits plus coconut or soy milk. Let me know how you like it. Gaye

If it helps, here is a simple green drink recipe that you could splash a parsley or 2 into:

I've been using Dinosaur kale. It blends up really well and isn't an overpowering taste. I love parsley but can see that it wouldn't be great in a smoothie!

I used the ends of the asparagus I had for dinner the night before. Not only did it taste bad, but it was SO stringy. Yuck.

I read somewhere that you can throw some frozen broccoli florettes into your smoothie without changing the taste. I tried it the other day, and it's true. However, for best results I think you need to have a Vitamix to really "cream" that broccoli and make it smooth. My regular old blender left a lot of tiny little chunks.
