WEEK 2 WEIGH IN
Posted Monday, September 19, 2011 at 7:22 AM

Here's my week 2 weigh in. I didn't lose much this week only 0.2, but overall, I feel really good. So here are my stats.

Start 159, today 157
height 5'8"
age 46.

So, down 2 lbs, was hoping for more, but it's progress right!! Hope you all had a good week.

Kathy

Down 5 lbs this week! Total loss for 2 weeks is 6.5 lbs (probably because I have a LOT to lose). Feeling so much less inflammation in my body overall. Best accomplishment so far. Smile

Week 2: 0.5 lb loss

It would have been better, but I decided to eat nuts...and too many of them. This week, no nuts for me!

I'm feeling great and enjoying the vegan diet.

Lost 1 pound this week, so 4 thus far.

Biggest benefit: I have so much more energy!

Slow, steady change is good Razz

Beginning of program: 113.5
Today: 110.4
Total loss 3.1 lbs.

Age 47, female, 4'10.5"

I've been a vegan almost 2 years and have struggled to lose 5-10 lbs. Somehow this plan really works for me.

here are my stats for week:

Weight loss: 1 lb - total for challenge 3.5 lbs
Body fat: 1% drop - total for challenge 2.5%

Feeling great, energy is high, clothes are fitting looser, and I started exercising again. Very Happy

Keep up the great work everyone. Little changes over time make for great accomplishments.

I'm down from a high of 159 at my mid-August Well Woman check-up at Kaiser, to 156 at the kick-off, to 153 on Monday. In the week ahead, I'm going to push myself to try the site's recipes, beginning with today's red lentil-artichoke stew, and challenge myself to stir fry with water rather than oil. I loved the Tofurky Italian sausages I picked up at Whole Foods, but realize they're a once-in-awhile kind of thing due to high sodium. Going vegan is a process -- celebrate the small victories leading to a healthier lifestyle!

bounced up a little last week but back down again. So, no real net change just yet. I needed to add back more of the greens and things just sorted out. I have to really work to stay away from nuts - they are such convenient handful snacks but they really add pounds fast.

Had the red pepper carrot soup from the kickstart recipes last night - using carrots from our own garden (plus some from the market to make up enough - we make a double recipe so we can have leftovers!)
