Laughing
i made recipes last night that were gross. Got so discouraged I prayed for an answer from God as to should I be on this program. I went to sleep depressed and frustrated missing some of my old foods.

Well, I got on the scale afer 8 days on the program and I lost 4 pds. Now I've been 'dieting' and watching my calories for a pretty good amount of time. So this weight loss was very nice. I'm motivated to keep on. I think Laughing

Congratulations!! 4 lbs is wonderful. I am new at this as well but found that the simpler the food the better it worked for me and it tasted good and kept me from craving. Beans, pumpernickel bread, veggies, - for instance today I had beans that I had cooked yesterday, greens that I had cooked day before yesterday, 2 apples and it all was good. Breakfast oatmeal, cinnamin with an apple cooked with - very good. Nothing fancy but all tasting good and satisfying. I was out of rice today but would have enjoyed the brown rice with the beans. It snowed all day today or I would have gone to the grocery store for rice. While I was heating my evening meal I cooked green beans and tofu fixed with soy sauce, garlic, onion pwd, turmeric - yummy! I will eat it with lunch tomorrow with the green beans. Hope this helps a little - I can't really cook so plain is good for me and has kept me going. Eventually I will branch out but not quite yet. I have lost as well and will keep going!

Hang in there! You're doing great - remember that the other health benefits from this way of eating are outstanding!!!

4 pounds is awesome!!! Good 4 you!!!

I feel lighter (I want to lose 15) but when I try on pants, shorts, I feel so discouraged too. I look at myself and don't like what I see, however I feel so much better!!! I feel good because I am eating better and helping with my carbon footprint. I have been a vegetarian for decades so this is not completely foreign to me.

Good luck.

Don't give up ........keep trying!!! I agree with keeping it "simple", but it is also good to try some "new" recipes. You win some and lose some. I have found many more that I did like and also my "non-veg" spouse.

Weight loss is always a good motivator Smile

I made the nutritionmd.org Lentil Soup and am having a cup for lunch as we speak. Yummy and was simple to make too.

Here's the link: http://www.nutritionmd.org/recipes/view.html?recipe_id=115

I used 4 cups of the vegetable broth (32oz carton) and 1 cup of water

Didn't have cilantro or corriander, so just added the cumin and it turned out just fine
