Motivated and on a mission...
Posted Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 8:39 PM

Smile I am going to try to be strong and
complete the 21 day vegan kickstart.
I let life distract me last time.
I am glad that this forum is
available for encouragement
during the next 21 days.
I am ready for this
challenge.

Thank you for the welcome,I noticed I made a mistake on my post by typing that 'I let Life distract me
this time.' I meant to say 'last time'. I guess at that time I was doubting if I can really
complete 21 days of changing my eating habits.
I can't be negative. I need to try really hard to find foods to satisfy me and also keep me feeling
full. (insert positive thoughts) Wink

Michelle,

I'd noticed the typo yet knew exactly what you'd meant.

You mentioned something really important - the reference to being satisfied. If we aren't eating enough, or enough of substantial satisfiers like starchy veggies, whole grains, and beans, we will linger on the edge of hunger and it is only a matter of time before our need for satisfaction can override our better judgement. Eat well from early in the day with enough robust foods and your whole experience will be edified and far more successful!

Hardest part for me is not having 1/2 n 1/2 in my morning tea. I find that Silk and Coconut substitutes are heavily processed. Any suggestions?

What about RAW dairy?

Donnasaffren,

I hear you. Half n half was the last nail in the dairy coffin for me - it lingered far after everything else - even the cheese - had been ditched. I suggest finding a really yummers organic coffee that you find a few tricks for making it really good - fresh grind, good water - and I guarantee that it will just take a few days before you start to enjoy the coffee without the creams.

If you want to wean a little bit, the only non-dairy I really ever liked was the coconut cream one (it doesn't taste like coconut, and it's very low fat) - I think So Delicious makes it? It comes in plain, french vanilla, and hazelnut. You can just use a little less with each passing day. But I can guarantee you'll never find anything that is exactly like half and half. Trust me, I tried. Rolling Eyes
