I agree so much with this. I would also like to add that if you are feeling 'good' in terms of full enough during the day, not too stuffed, and not craving junk food to eat or over-eat ( I am a pretty emotional eater at times!!) then you are surely getting enough protein.
Listening to our body needs is key. everything has small amounts of protein..so that also does add up collectively. Getting variety helped me a lot, I've noticed for example, I don't want JUST peanuts or peanut butter..I mean I love the stuff, but sometimes mixed beans salads or lentils really hit the spot!
