I am getting sick after I exercise. like up to fours hours later with really bad low blood sugar. It is driving me nuts!

If you taek any blood sugar medications, you may need to see your healthcare provider right away.

Otherwise, you simply may not be getting enough carbohydrates to maintain an active lifestyle. Try a piece of fruit before you exercise.

Sounds to me like you may be hypoglycemic. You should talk to your doctor.

I have low blood sugar issues too. I usually have a little snack before working out, and something in mind quick and easy for when I get home. I find that if I wait til my blood sugar really drops then I get nauseous and don't want to eat, which probably makes the situation worse.

It's a little expensive, but I really like the Vega Berry-flavored protein powder with Almond Milk. I only use 1 scoop, not two like the label says. I also usually add some frozen berries before blending it. It only takes a minute or two to make, so I can head off that crash before it starts.

If your problem feels pretty serious though, which it sounds like it might be, the others are probably right about talking to your doctor.

thanks for info, What is this shake? Who makes it and where did you find it?

I am controlling my diabetes without meds. I was taking them and decided to do it on my own. I have below diabetes A1C's at 5.3. Thank God I woke up and decided to save my kidneys from that horrible stuff they call medicine.

Well, thanks and I do need to go and snack before the low blood sugar hits but I hate eating when I'm not hungry. kc

Vega is a protein powder. You can find out more about it at Brendan Brazier's website here: http://www.brendanbrazier.com/vega/index.html

They sell it at Whole Foods. I've been meaning to stop by GNC and see if they sell it. It's been so long since I bought my last tub of whey-based protein powder at the gym, I can't remember if it was equivalent in price or not. I just remember that stuff was pricey, hard to dissolve, made me gassy, and I never finished it off.

I've had much better luck with Vega, but I've only tried the one flavor since it had the best reviews both at Amazon and with the WF employees.

If you do buy it or any other supplement or protein powder at WF make sure to ask about their Vitamin Card. If you buy 5 supplements that cost $4.99 or more, you get your 6th one free. My card says it's only valid in TX, LA, AR & OK. I'm sure they have something similar in other regions.
