Snacking on fresh berries isn't going to happen much longer. Also the fresh fruit compote isn't really feasible right now. I've found some other snacks online that are vegan and healthy, but I just think this would be a good change. apples, pears, raisins and/or dried cranberries, a little cider, a little cinnamon makes a wonderful fresh fruit compote we keep frozen strawberries and blueberries handy year round for smoothies and such (we'll go to the local pick your own place and stock up on blueberries particularly for year round use; strawberries are too much bending for me ) Use squashes (butternut, acorn, etc) along with sweet potato in chili. Given that this is a somewhat global group - folks in Australia and the UK as well as Asia, the US and Canada - it's kinda hard to figure out "seasonal" recipes. For that matter, it's hard to figure out 'seasonal' recipes within the US - are we talking New England or New Mexico or North Dakota or North Carolina? There are some areas where certain foods are year-round and other places where it's not grown locally/seasonally and is shipped in from elsewhere all the time. --DebR
